As we predicted, the weather has changed – wind is higher and it looks stormy – a day on land and time to give a mojo a rest. We decided to take the van out and see where we ended up. We arrived in La Grazie, a pretty little marina area for lunch. – whilst the sun had come out there were white horses out in the Golf of La Spezia so we were relived that we had trusted our instincts and reminded in dry land.
On the way back home, we stopped at the Bocca Di Magra – waves were rolling in across the mouth of the river making a very choppy entrance, a yacht managed to get himself grounded, and fortunately somehow got underway pretty quickly. The marina area at the entrance had a lovely feel to it with a small outdoor bar and a few scattered shops down in the small streets.
We then headed to get some provisions from a large E lecerc in San Stefano – it was huge but we were pretty tired, so bought some nice prawns to put on the BBQ ( later I would fry these as Shaun’s BBQ was not firing properly).
The iPad has been a blessing – we can use the app to track our progress at sea, to watch tv in the evenings, to read, play games in the evenings and to write blogs…. Definitely a good buy!
