Back on the road this morning but not before stopping and getting the trailer spare tyre finally changed! Luckily I could speak in French and translate – tomorrow onwards will be more difficult!

The roads started to become familiar from our holiday to Port Grimaud near St Tropez a few years before. Eventually we saw signs for Moncao – the roads were become sweeping winding and passing through lots of tunnels. It was when we exited one of the tunnels that we saw the Italia sign – we had made it through France!

We continued driving through high viaducts, tunnels and winding roads – below us the Mediterranean sea was unbelievably blue and glittering – not long to go now! Eventually, we arrived in the town of Sarzanna and immediately picked up the signs for our campsite!

We arrived at 4pm – very hot and desperate to get sorted out. We decided to take Mojo to her mooring first. The lady on reception called for the man who controlled the crane, and we set off to the Marina area. The campsite is situated on the River Magra which leads out onto the open water. Mountains and foothills surround both sides of the river offering good shelter for yachts and motorboats with shallow drafts of 2-3m or less. Entrance to the river can be choppy on a following sea and a breakwater at the end of the river signals the start of deeper water.

We unwrapped Mojo who was filthy from road dust and the rain from the storm, and an Italian ( who luckily spoke French) told us to get Mo ready as the crane man was on his way. Just in time, the crane man arrived and Shaun jumped aboard to attach the straps – we had never used these straps for lifting so it was a hair raising moment as Mojo was lifted into the air and casually plopped into the water – what a relief, she was safe!!

It was getting late as we made our way to our accommodation- unloading quickly and then going to the nearest supermarket to get provisions!

Very tired, we planned a day of cleaning Mojo and getting the GPS and Bimini top fitted the next day.
